<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition that hardly generates foam, has a good anti-foaming property, exhibits excellent reliability and achieves high printing qualities and high preservability of printed matter, an inkjet recording method using the ink composition having such properties, and recorded matter of high image qualities obtained by the recording method. <P>SOLUTION: The ink composition comprises a betaine surfactant represented by general formula (1): (R)<SB>p</SB>-N-[L-(COOM)<SB>q</SB>]<SB>r</SB>and an antifoaming agent. In formula (1), R is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; L is a linking group; M is a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal atom, an ammonium group, a protonated organic amine or nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group, or a quaternary ammonium ion group; q is an integer of at least 1; r is an integer of at least 1 and at most 4; p is an integer of at least 0 and at most 4; and p+r is 3 or 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
