<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gene detection method that enables highly sensitive detection of a target gene sample having a specific sequence. <P>SOLUTION: The gene detection method includes: an immobilizing step of preparing a single-stranded capture probe having a base sequence complementary to a target gene sequence and immobilizing the capture probe onto a solid phase; a gene sample preparing step of preparing a gene sample by denaturing a target gene to make it single stranded; a bonding step of bonding an electrochemically active material to the gene sample by adding the electrochemically active material to the gene sample; a gene sample capturing step of hybridizing the gene sample to which the electrochemically active material has been bonded with the single-stranded capture probe immobilized on the solid phase, thereby causing the gene sample to be captured by the solid phase; and a detecting step of detecting the electrochemically active material bonded to the gene sample immobilized on the solid phase by electrochemical measurement. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
