PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide moisture-retaining paper which has improved softness and skin touch and has deodorizing and anti-microbial properties, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This moisture-retaining paper is characterized by coating or impregnating a sanitary paper substrate with tea polyphenols and a moisture-retaining agent. The moisture-retaining paper has deodorizing and anti-microbial properties, and more excellent softness and skin touch than those of moisture-retaining paper coated or impregnated with only the moisture-retaining agent. The moisture-retaining agent is preferably one or more of glycerol, polyethylene glycol, sorbitol, surfactants, modified silicones and liquid paraffin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
