PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system equipped with a driving support function for detecting an executed abrupt acceleration and deceleration operation to be announced, and capable of detecting the executed abrupt acceleration and deceleration operation by setting preliminarily a proper threshold value related to a moving speed. SOLUTION: This navigation system 10 provided with a route search part 113, a sensor part 15 for detecting a travel condition of a vehicle, a GPS reception part 12 for positioning a current position, a map storage part 13 for storing map information, an output means, an acceleration determining part 111, a threshold table 112 with the threshold set in every of a plurality of sections related to the moving speed of the vehicle, and an abrupt acceleration and deceleration recording part 18, and the acceleration determining part 111 acquires the corresponding threshold from the threshold table 112, in response to the section related to the moving speed of the vehicle, calculates an acceleration, based on an output from the sensor part 15 or the GPS reception part 12, to be compared with the acquired threshold value, determines the presence of executed abrupt acceleration and deceleration, and records abrupt acceleration and deceleration information in the abrupt acceleration and deceleration information recording part 18.
