PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for the bead apex suppressing reversion and having excellent processability, maneuvering stability, low fuel consumption and excellent run-flat durability and comfortableness of riding in a vehicle having a flat spot and to provide a run-flat tire, a tire for an SUV (sports utility vehicle) and a run-flat tire for the SUV having the bead apex using the rubber composition for the bead apex. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for the bead apex comprises 5-30 pts.wt. of a phenol resin and/or a modified phenol resin and 5-8 pts.wt. of sulfur in 100 pts.wt. of a rubber component containing 20-90 wt.% of natural rubber and/or isoprene rubber and 10-80 wt.% of at least one kind of synthetic rubber selected from the group consisting of a butadiene rubber, a modified butadiene rubber, an emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber and a solution-polymerized modified styrene butadiene rubber containing 1,2-syndiotactic polybutadiene crystals.
