PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus capable of allowing a user to simply obtain a read image subjected to edit applicable to applications with excellent image quality reproducibility. SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus as shown in Fig. 2 includes: an image read means 10; a means 40 for designating one or more of a combination of at least one kind of image quality processing and at least one kind of image edit; a memory for storing the designated combinations; image processing means 61, 80 that apply the image processing and the image edit of each combination to image data resulting from a read image and display each image as a result of the processing on an image display means as a list; a means 77 for selecting and designating an image of the displayed list; a means 77 for designating an output destination of the selected and designated image; and an output control means 80 for outputting the selected and designated image to the designated output destination. The image reading apparatus displays a combination designation entry menu in response to start of an image read mode.
