PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform linear A/D conversion at high speed without increasing a circuit scale. SOLUTION: In a solid state imaging apparatus 1 having a plurality of pixels 101x for converting incident light quantity into an electric signal and having a plurality of analog/digital converters 12 for converting an analog signal obtained from each pixel 101x into a digital signal, the analog/digital converter 12 includes comparators 102x each of which compares a reference signal (reference voltage RAMP) with the analog signal obtained from each pixel 101x.
