LENS ASSEMBLY FOR NEAR FIELD OPTICAL RECORDING/REPRODUCING APPARATUS

A lens assembly of a near field optical recording/reproducing device is provided to minimize load thereof and to improve operability and accuracy in fabricating a lens assembly. A lens assembly of a near field optical recording/reproducing device comprises a housing(10), a near field lens(14), and an objective lens(18). The near field lens is integrally formed at the housing such that one end thereof faces a recording medium and the other end thereof faces an optical source to irradiate a beam to the recording medium and to receive the beam reflected at the recording medium. The objective lens is installed at the housing to deliver the beam from the optical source to the near field lens and to receive the beam reflected at the recording medium through the near field lens. The housing includes a cylinder part(11) and a disc part(13). The cylindrical part has a keeping cavity to contain the objective lens. The disc part is positioned at one end of the cylindrical unit and formed with the near field lens integrally.
