A transmitting/receiving system and a data processing method are provided to improve reception performance remarkably with respect to a ghost signal and a noise signal of a channel compared with a conventional ATSC 8T-VSB(8Trellis-Vestigial Sideband) receiver. The first error correction coding is performed on the first service data inputted through the first path. The second service data inputted through the second path and the error-correction coded first service data are multiplexed. The second error correction coding is performed on the multiplexed service data. Convolution coding is performed on the second error-correction coded service data. The convolution-coded service data is modulated and then transmitted.
