FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed method can be used in chemical, petrochemical, gas-processing and metallurgy industry, for example non-ferrous metallurgy for obtaining elementary sulphur from oxygen containing sulphur dioxide gas. The method involves cooling the gas, removal of dust, oxygen enrichment to a given concentration and reduction with hydrocarbon gas at high temperature and cooling of the products. The obtained reducing gas is subjected to catalytic Claus-conversion with condensation of the obtained sulphur and burning of toxic and flammable sulphur compounds in waste gas to sulphur dioxide. Sulphur dioxide is first enriched with oxygen to concentration of 9.5-11 vol.%, and then heated to 950-1130C by burning hydrocarbon fuel in a medium of oxygen-containing sulphur dioxide gas. After that a reducing agent is added to the heated sulphur dioxide gas, in which oxygen has been removed. The formed mixture of sulphur dioxide and reducing agent is cooled to 350-500C and passed through a catalyst. The products of reduction are cooled to 225-250C and subjected to catalytic Claus-conversion. ^ EFFECT: reduced specific consumption of reducing agent and more reliable conversion of sulphur dioxide gas to sulphur. ^ 2 cl, 1 dwg, 1 ex |
