METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DISPOSING FOOD REFUSE

A method and an apparatus for treating food waste are provided to separate moisture from the food waste without a fermenting process or a drying process, by mixing sawdust and the food waste and dehydrating the mixture of food waste and sawdust through mechanical pressure. A mixture of food waste and sawdust is prepared by adding the sawdust into the food waste(102). The mixture of food waste and sawdust is dehydrated through mechanical pressure(104). The food waste is pulverized before preparing the mixture of food waste and sawdust(100). The dehydration of the mixture is performed by one type pressurizing and dehydrating unit, which is selected from a group consisting of a filter press, a belt press, and a screw press.
