A data recording/reproducing device is provided to record a large amount of data rapidly and to reduce the size thereof by positioning an optical component effectively. A data recording/reproducing device comprises a shaft(10,11), a base member(12), a beam generating unit, and a motor. The base member is moved being combined with the shaft. The beam generating unit is positioned at the base member to generate a reference beam and a signal beam with recorded data and to irradiate the reference beam and the signal beam to a recording medium. The motor moves the base member combined with the shaft by rotating the shaft. The data recording/reproducing device also includes an image sensor converting the beam incident to the recording medium into an electric signal.
