An atomizing fuel injector 100 for a gas turbine engine has an injector body 112 with a bore 114, a fitting 118 at an inlet end of the injector body for receiving fuel and an atomizer at an outlet end of the injector body for delivering atomized fuel to a combustor of the gas turbine engine. A fuel tube 116 is arranged within the bore of the injector body for delivering fuel from the fitting to the atomizer, the fuel tube having an inlet end portion 116a adjacent the fitting and an outlet end portion joined to the atomizer. The fuel injector also includes a structure 140 joined to the inlet end portion of the fuel tube to compensate for thermal growth of the injector body relative to the fuel tube during engine operation. The structure may be a bellows, or a diaphragm, or a C-shaped channel (160 fig 8), and the structure may be of flexible metallic construction. The bellows or diaphragm may be corrugated and formed in a pre-stressed state. |
