A welding method of pipe sections is provided to make it possible to weld two pipes in high accuracy within a short time. A welding method of pipe sections is characterized in that section(22a) of a first pipe(22) has a flat surface area(22j), section(24a) of a second pipe(24) has a tapered ring-shape tip(24b), the tapered ring-shape tip is melted by electric resistance welding in a state that an end(24c) of the ring-shaped projected portion with a thin edge of the second pipe section contacts the flat surface area of the first pipe section, and the second pipe section is welded to the first pipe section. The second pipe section is welded to the first pipe section so that the tapered ring-shape tip of the second pipe is abutted with an inner circumference(24e) of the second pipe.
