A method for recording EDID(Extended Display Identification Data) with a micom of a digital television and a digital television thereof are provided to download EDID data in concurrence with micom download without special cable connecting works, thereby reducing process time and component unit cost. A method for recording EDID(Extended Display Identification Data) with a micom of a digital television comprises the following steps of: enabling an EEPROM(Electrically Erasable and Programmable Read Only Memory) to be connected through the micom in concurrence with micom connection(S100,S110); downloading a predetermined program or data from a PC(Personal Computer) to the micom on a main board; downloading EDID data from the PC to the micom on the main board, and transmitting the downloaded data to the EEPROM to be recorded and stored(S120,S130); and separating the connection of the micom on the main board from the PC(S140).
