The tarpaulin has a rolling device (3) that is arranged in or at a passenger car (1) with a supported rolling in or rolling out plane (2). An attachment unit (4) attaches the tarpaulin at the passenger car, where the tarpaulin is dimensioned such that it covers or overstretches large parts of a windscreen in an unrolled condition. Lateral projections (5) cover side windows in the unrolled condition, where the projections are hinged on the tarpaulin.
