PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment which is differentiated with an extraordinal tinctorial power and a color density, particularly with a pure color and is excellent in opacifying power. SOLUTION: The pigment comprises a flaky base material (excluding natural or artificial clay mineral) selected from glass pieces, SiO<SB>2</SB>and Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>flakes, a synthetic or natural flaky iron oxide, an organic or natural graphite and/or a flaky metal, and an anion binding layer forming an anion containing a laminar double hydroxide of an organic, inorganic and/or organic metal colorant.
