An LCD is provided to drive a transmissive electrode and a reflexive electrode individually to display an image on each of screens disposed at inner and outer surfaces. A liquid crystal panel includes a common transmissive electrode on one surface of a liquid crystal layer(100). The liquid crystal panel includes a plurality of groups consisting of a reflective electrode and a transmissive electrode disposed in a matrix form on the other surface of the liquid crystal layer. A polarizing plate is disposed on each surface of the liquid crystal panel. A voltage can be independently applied to the reflective electrode and the transmissive electrode of each of the groups. A reflective polarizer, which reflects or transmits light in a polarizing direction of the light, is disposed between the liquid crystal panel and the polarizing plate disposed at the groups consisting of the reflective electrode and the transmissive electrode. The reflective polarizer reflects or transmits the light transmitted through the liquid crystal layer and the transmissive electrode. |
