<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-insulated electric apparatus which reduces the concentration of reactive iodine and improves the reliability on insulation by collecting iodine or iodic compounds, in the gas-insulated electric apparatus using an iodic compound as insulating gas. <P>SOLUTION: A metallic container 2 is charged with iodic compounds such as CF<SB>3</SB>I, etc. as insulating gas 4 for electrically insulating a high-voltage application part 1. The bottom face of the metallic container 2 is provided with a gas absorbent 5.
