The method involves continuing frequency tuning after an interruption with a frequency, and reducing the frequency by a frequency supply, which corresponds to the setting time of a resolution filter (8) e.g. speed-optimized resolution filter, in comparison to the frequency before the interruption. An intermediate frequency signal (XZF) is converted into a baseband signal (XBB) upto a time by constant frequency of a numerically controlled oscillator (7) of a spectrum analyzer.
