ACTIVATION METHOD FOR HYDROGENATION CATALYST, AND PRODUCTION METHOD FOR HYDROGEN PEROXIDE COMPRISING THE METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for a hydrogen peroxide which is used for a hydrogen peroxide production plant by means of an anthraquinone process, and has a processfor activating both the selectivity and activity of the hydrogenation of a hydrogenation catalyst.

SOLUTION: The method for producing hydrogen peroxide by means of the anthraquinone process comprises: a reduction stage where a working solution containing an organic solvent and anthraquinones is reduced with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst; and a catalyst activation stage where the hydrogenation catalyst in which the selectivity of hydrogenation is reduced by repeated use is activated. The catalyst activation stage includes a step where the hydrogenation catalyst is treated with a first alkaline aqueous solution comprising alkali metal and whose pH is≥10 in such a manner that the pH of a catalyst immersion liquid mixed with pure water by 5 pts.wt. to 1 pts.wt. of the hydrogenation catalyst after the activation, and also, it is cleaned with a second alkaline aqueous solution having alkalinity weaker than that of the first alkaline aqueous solution.
