METHOD OF CREATING SUGAR CHAIN LIBRARY AND ITS APPLICATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method enabling synthesis of various sugar chains. SOLUTION: The method is used to manufacture protected sugar chain compounds of formula (I) (wherein, R1and R2are the same or different and are each a linear or branched sugar chain; S1is an arbitrary sugar residue; SAand SBare the same or different and are sugar residues; L is a bond or a linear sugar chain; X is nonexistent or a specified group; the sugar residues of SAand SBare each cut by different exo-type glycosidases) or a library of the sugar chain compounds. A method of manufacturing sugar chain compounds containing a process of treating the protected sugar chain compounds or their library with glycosidases, the glycosidase decomposition products, synthetic intermediates for the protected sugar chain compounds and reagents and a kit are also provided.
