The instrument display displays a motion blurred image if speed of movement of a pointer on a graduated scale is greater than or equal to a specific value. The display displays a normal pointer image, if the speed of movement of the pointer is less than or equal to the specific value. An intermediate pointer image is generated from the motion blurred image and the normal image, and is displayed between the motion blurred image and the normal image, if the motion blurred image is converted to the normal image.
