PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing glass having good attitude stability to rolling and hardly generating cracks or chipping. SOLUTION: The sealing glass 1 has a flat shape in which each of cross sections passing through the gravity center G and orthogonal to a horizontal plane P has a major axis L in the direction parallel to the horizontal plane P and a minor axis S in the direction orthogonal to the horizontal plane P when the sealing glass 1 is placed on the horizontal plane P in a prescribed attitude. Further, the external surface of the sealing glass 1 is constituted of a free surface 1a formed by the surface tension of molten glass and a non-free surface 1b (1b1, 1b2) formed by the contact of the molten glass with a mold and has no right or sharp angle edge part.
