INTERCALATION COMPOUND AND COMPOSITE MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intercalation compound which improves the properties of a composite material to be obtained by compounding with a polymeric material and a composite material which can exhibit improved properties based on compounding of the intercalation compound. SOLUTION: The intercalation compound is obtained by inserting an organic compound between layers of an inorganic layered substance. This intercalation compound is constituted by inserting an organic compound in a non-ionized state between layers of an ion-exchangeable inorganic substance where an exchangeable ion is present.
