A host device capable of selectively printing and a printing method thereof are provided to increase the convenience of a user by allowing the user to print data which the user wants. A host device capable of selectively printing includes a host unit(100) and an image forming unit(150). The host unit includes a user interface part(110) and a converting part(120). The user interface provides a user interface window capable of setting a print option applied to a document. The converting part converts the document to print data which is analysis-possible language in the image forming unit. The image forming unit includes a video controller(160) and an engine controller(170). The video controller converts the print data to print-possible data. The engine controller prints the print data based on the print-possible data.
