Invention refers to an insulation closure (1) of a tundish (6) for transportation of liquid metal, which by its resting surface (7) is set onto a carrying surface (2) of an opening of the tundish (6) for transportation of liquid metal, comprises a bottom wire net (3), insulating material (4) and on upper wire net (5). Insulation closure (1) of the pot for transportation of liquid metal, according to the invention, is characterized by that the resting surface (7) of the insulation closure (1) for transportation of the liquid metal is geometrically and dimensionally entirely sufficient for carrying surface (2) of the tundish (6) for transportation of the liquid metal.
