A method for manufacturing capped metal nanocrystal by reaction in solution phase in the presence of platinum catalyst is provided to obtain metal nanocrystal in high yield through simple process. A method for manufacturing capped metal nanocrystal comprises the step of reacting metal nanocrystal precursor and a reductant in solution phase in the presence of platinum catalyst. The method optionally comprises the step of adding a compound having a functional group for capping the metal nanocrystal in the solution. The platinum catalyst is at least one selected from a group consisting of H2PtCl6, (NH4)2PtCl4, (NH4)2PtCl6, K2PtCl4 and K2PtCl6. A metal in the precursor is the second, third or fourth group of the periodic table or the alloys thereof. The reductant is an organic metallic compound, such as sodium naphthalene, potassium naphthalene, sodium anthracenide and potassium anthracenide. |
