An apparatus and a method for magnifying a portion of an image in a mobile broadcasting receiving terminal device are provided to magnify a desired portion of the images even in a small-sized display device, thereby decreasing eyestrain of a user. A broadcasting receiver(10) receives a broadcasting signal. A decoder(20) decodes the received broadcasting signal. A magnification setting unit(40) sets a partial image, which is to be magnified from the decoded image signal. An image output unit(50) magnifies the set partial image, combines the original image and the magnified partial image, and outputs the combined image. The magnified partial image and the original image are combined and displayed in real-time while the magnified partial image is synchronized with the original image. |
