TONER AND METHOD OF PREPARING THE SAME

A method for preparing a toner is provided to simply the overall process by using no emulsifier in an agglomeration step, to allow easy control of the particle size and shape, to facilitate dispersion of a colorant and wax, and to improve the fixing characteristics and shelf stability of a toner. A method for preparing a toner comprises the steps of: polymerizing a toner composition containing urethane acrylate, a polymerizable monomer and wax to provide a polymer binder resin(a); dispersing a colorant and urethane acrylate to obtain a dispersion(b) of colorant; mixing and agglomerating the polymer binder resin latex particles(a) with the dispersion(b) of colorant to obtain a toner; and coating the surface of the toner obtained from the preceding step with latex particles containing epoxy acrylate.
