ELECTROCONDUCTIVE POROUS HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new porous honeycomb structure made higher in function than before and its manufacturing method.

SOLUTION: The electroconductive porous honeycomb structure is a silica molding in which an electroconductive fine powder is dispersed; and the method of manufacturing the electroconductive porous honeycomb structure comprises a process (a) of preparing silica sol by mixing an ion-exchange resin into a sodium silicate aqueous solution, a process (b) of removing the ion-exchange resin and adjusting pH, a process (c) of dispersing the electroconductive fine powder in the silica sol, a process (d) of gelling the silica sol to manufacture silica wet gel, and a process (e) for freezing the silica wet gel.
