The column has a cast part (5) having the form of an open profile and including a base part (8) and side pieces. The part (5) has side flanges (11) arranged parallel to bent areas (10) that are arranged at ends of the pieces. The flanges are connected with outer ends of the areas. Planes, in which the flanges run, are arranged nearer to a plane, in which the part (8) runs, than a plane, in which the areas run. The flanges (11) continuously run from lateral roof frames to a door sill of a vehicle in sections. The part (5) is made up of aluminum, aluminum alloy, steel, magnesium or plastic. |
