<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beam converting apparatus capable of expanding a beam diameter at a fiber end part by a component for which the tip end of an optical fiber and a coreless fiber are fusion-bonded. <P>SOLUTION: An optical collimator 10 which makes parallel light out of an optical signal emitted from an optical fiber and spread is composed of a collimator housing 11, a ferrule 12, a single fiber patch cord 13, a lens 14, and a lens holder 15, wherein the single fiber patch cord 13 is constituted of one optical fiber 16 and one coreless fiber 17. In the single fiber patch cord 13, the coreless fiber 17 is fusion-bonded to the end face 16a of the optical fiber 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
