PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an appropriate manufacturing method for forming a polarizing plate, by pasting a thermoplastic norbornane resin film having superior properties as a protective film or phase difference film on one surface of a PVA polarizing film, using an aqueous adhesive. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the polarizing plate, consisting of the protective film or the phase difference film comprising the thermoplastic norbornane-based resin film on one surface of the polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) polarizing film, and release films on an opposite surface or on both surfaces, comprises (1) a step of applying the aqueous adhsive to one surface of the polarizing film, (2) a step of laminating the protective film or the phase difference film on the adhesive applied surface side of the polarizing film, and a steam non-permeable support film on an opposite surface, (3) a step of peeling and removing the support film, (4) a drying step, and (5) a step of pasting release films on an opposite side or on both surfaces of the protective film pasted surface of the polarizing film.
