PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile device capable of coping with an insufficient capacity of a reception memory, and capable of being produced on one production line to reduce a production cost. SOLUTION: Detection means is provided on a facsimile device for detecting whether or not a hard disk is mounted. Consequently, an existing or external hard disk is effectively utilized. Then, transfer means is provided on a control board, which transfers and stores image data from the reception memory to the hard disk and transfers the stored image data from the hard disk to a printing memory, when the detection means detects mounting of the hard disk.
