PHOTOMASK AND COLOR FILTER FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photomask for alignment control projection formation for forming a branch rib 84 which has a uniform width to its overall length even when the branch rib 84 is extended from on a colored pixel to on a colored pixel above a black matrix.

SOLUTION: The width (Wa) of a light shield part on the photomask which corresponds to a projection 84-3 for alignment control formed on a colored pixel nearby above a black matrix end and the width (Wc) of a light shield part on the photomask which corresponds to a projection for alignment control formed on the colored pixel above the black matrix are made larger than the width (Wb) of a light shield part on the photomask which correspond to a projection 84-1 for alignment control formed on a colored pixel which does not have the black matrix therebelow.
