DISTANCE RECOGNITION SYSTEM, OPTICAL BEACON, ON-VEHICLE DEVICE, AND DISTANCE RECOGNITION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distance recognition system for obtaining a distance up to a stop line in front of a vehicle advancing direction with high precision. SOLUTION: A prescribed range on a road R is defined as a communication area A, prescribed down-link information is repeatedly transmitted to an on-vehicle device 1 after an optical beacon 2 receives up-link information transmitted from the device 1. The down-link information includes distance information L from the area A up to a stop line P and post-transmission transition information based on a transmission of the first down-link information after the beacon 2 receives the up-link information. The device 1 receives the down-link information, corrects the distance information L by using the post-transmission transition information included in the down-link information, and obtains a distance L1 up to the stop line P.
