PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic compression device capable of improving uniformily of air gap between a stator of a motor and a rotor of the motor by compensating for change of the air gap accompanying variation of all residual stress of a cylindrical shell of the hermetic vessel and heat input conditions accompanying fixation of a cylinder of a compressor, and a device and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The cylindrical shell of the hermetic vessel includes a strain imparting area formed from an outer circumference thereof. The strain imparting area gives permanent strain on the cylindrical shell to improve uniformily of gap length of the air gap around a drive rotary shaft. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
