A data terminal and a position measurement method for the same are provided to perform position determination without mounting an additional hardware or paying a communications fee in an A-GPS(Assisted Global Positional System) method by using satellite orbit information included in a broadcast signal transmitted from a DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcast) broadcasting station server. A data terminal(10) includes a DMB receiving device(130), a GPS receiving device(120), and a controlling part(110). The DMB receiving device receives a DMB broadcast signal. The GPS receiving device performs position measurement by using satellite orbit information. The controlling part extracts the satellite orbit information from the DMB broadcast signal, provides the signal to the GPS receiving device, and receives and stores a position measurement result from the GPS receiving device, according as power is applied to the data terminal. The GPS receiving device measures the position of the data terminal in an A-GPS method by using pseudo distance information measured from information received from a GPS satellite(20) and the satellite orbit information from the controlling part. |
