PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of suppressing noise of a color image up to a level equal to a level of white pixels by applying interpolation to phases of color pixels through the use of signal components of the white pixels as indices. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 1 disclosed herein including a sensor with a cell arrangement wherein the chromatic color pixels in a plurality of colors and the high sensitivity pixels with higher sensitivity with respect to incident light than the sensitivity of the chromatic color pixels are alternately arranged in the checkered pattern, a white balance block 11 for normalizing a pixel output of the sensor by the chromatic color pixel or the high sensitivity pixel, and a pixel interpolation block 13 for interpolating other deficient colors to a phase at which a chromatic color pixel exists, is characterized by including a noise reduction block 21 that is located between the white balance block 11 and the pixel interpolation block 13 and suppresses noise of the chromatic color pixel by applying interpolation to phases of the color pixels through the use of the signal components of the white pixels for indices.
