A mast for a pleasure sail boat comprises air intake means (2) positioned in such a way that in use they lie above deck level of the boat to which this mast is intended to be fitted or on which it is intended to be placed, and means of conveying the air to the bottom of the mast. A main mast for a pleasure sail boat comprises, above deck level, in order to ventilate the interior of said boat, means (2) for taking in air and carrying the external air as far as at least one opening in the deck of the boat in communication with the interior of said boat. The air intake means (2) form a housing (3) equipped with means (4, 7, 8) for avoiding water entering the ventilation circuit. |
