Kits comprising a melamine/formaldehyde resin sponge and a detergent composition comprising: (i) a surfactant selected from the group consisting of anionic surfactants, nonionic surfactants and combinations thereof; and (ii) a C<SUB>1-6 </SUB>mono- or poly-hydric alcohol, are described along with methods for cleaning hard surfaces therewith.
