<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a control system where constant-voltage control and constant-current control are combined is proposed as a transfer system for an image forming apparatus, but appropriate transfer bias is not always applied, whereby stable transfer is desired; and also technique to perform control that transfer bias is changed according to in-machine humidity, the kind of transfer paper and further the number of printing times when double-sided printing is performed on the transfer paper or when printing is performed on both sides by several times is disclosed, but the actually required transfer bias happens to separate from the transfer bias according to the history of application of the image forming apparatus or the quality of paper used by a user. <P>SOLUTION: Provided are the image forming apparatus capable of achieving the stable transfer by deciding the transfer bias based on the correction of transfer material generated according to the in-machine humidity and the kind of selected transfer paper and the correction of a transfer means generated according to the resistance of the transfer means; and the method for controlling the image forming apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
