A biosensor for use in the determination of the glucose level in a liquid sample, which comprises an insulating substrate and a reagent layer provided on the insulating substrate and comprising a glucose dehydrogenase whose coenzyme is flavin-adenine dinucleotide, wherein the reagent layer contains an additive comprising any one selected from an organic acid or organic acid salt having at least one carboxyl group in the molecule, an organic acid or organic acid salt having at least one amino or carbonyl group in the molecule, a sugar alcohol and a soluble protein or a combination thereof. It becomes possible to improve the substrate specificity to glucose and the storage stability and to avoid any action on a sugar other than glucose.
