PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component easily manufacturable, and capable of reducing a cost, and of setting pressing force of a detection part at a desired value (particularly, a low pressing force). SOLUTION: This electronic component is provided with: a case 10; a rotator 50 rotatably housed in the case 10, an electric function part (a slider 70 and switch patterns 93 and 94) changing electrical output in response to the rotation of the rotator 50, and an elastic means 80. The elastic means 80 is a torsional coil spring, and elastically moves the rotator 50 toward a predetermined restoration position by bringing its first extraction part 83 into elastic contact with a contact part 61 of the rotator 50 and by bringing a second extraction part 85 into elastic contact with a second extraction part lock part 37 of the case 10. The rotator 50 is provided with the detection part 63 projecting from the inside of the case 10 in the rotating direction of the rotator 50.
