<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means capable of preventing deterioration of capacity characteristics of the whole battery by suppressing capacity loss of a positive electrode active material due to the initial charge and discharge loss of a negative electrode active material in a lithium ion secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium ion secondary battery has a positive electrode capable of release and storage of lithium ions at charge and discharge and a negative electrode capable of storage and release of lithium ions at charge and discharge opposed to through a separator layer, and has an electrolyte filled in these gap portions. The positive electrode is a transition metal compound oxide including lithium, and includes the positive electrode active material of a structure in which 4 oxygen are coordinated in the transition metal ion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
