PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device and method which are capable of satisfactorily executing data transfer by one of a plurality of communication parts. SOLUTION: A transfer destination setting part 71 sets a transfer destination of data received by a communication device 1. A transfer processing control part 72 transfers the received data to a communication device designated by the transfer destination setting part 71. When a transfer destination telephone number is set by the transfer destination setting part 71, the transfer processing control part 72 inhibits data transfer in the case that the transfer destination telephone number to be set coincides with a telephone number given to one of a plurality of communication parts 20. Thus the received data are prevented from being transferred to the communication device 1 itself, and continuation of repeated data transfer to the communication device 1 can be prevented.
