PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely control power of an electric blower by a simple circuit constitution without being limited in size of detectable dust, in a vacuum cleaner which detects the dust to be sucked by a sensor. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner is provided with the dust sensor 7 having an infrared light-emitting diode (light-emitting means) 17 and a photo transistor (light-receiving means) 18, amplifies the analog output signal of the photo transistor 18 varied by a light-receiving quantity with an amplifier circuit 29, samples it on a short cycle using a DSP (fast LSI), and controls power supply quantity to the electric blower 2 based on the result. Thus, it is possible to precisely control power of the electric blower by the simple circuit without being limited in size of detectable dust. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
