PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dishwasher and a dish washing method which enables the generation of a detergent liquid with a desired concentration and spray a detergent liquid with a higher concentration than the standard to an object to be washed without being affected by an external factor such as the pressure of city water by eliminating a new detergent splashing means and an additional water quantity detection means. SOLUTION: A water supply mechanism 3 supplies the city water to a washing tank 2 by a command from a control part 10 to drive a washing pump 7 intermittently. When detecting air clogging of the washing pump 7 by a signal from an air mixing detection part 9, the control part 10 stops the water supply mechanism 3 and controls the washing pump 7 to be driven by the detergent with a higher concentration than its standard. After the completion of washing, the washing pump 7 is stopped and the water supply mechanism 3 carries out the supply of water by a command from the control part 10. When a water level detection part 4 detects the standard quantity necessary for the normal washing of water supplied into the washing tank, the water supply mechanism 3 is stopped and the washing pump 7 is controlled to be driven by the detergent with the standard concentration.
