摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently regenerate a particulate filter while making an exhaust gas recirculation control, in an engine having an exhaust passage provided with the particulate filter and oxidation catalyst used for regenerating the filter. SOLUTION: In the structure in which the oxidation catalyst 12 and a particulate filter 13 are disposed in the exhaust passage 11 and an EGR passage 15 is branched from a part downstream of the particulate filter 13 to recirculate exhaust gas from the downstream of the particulate filter 13 into an intake passage 5, in the regeneration of the particulate filter 13, unburnt fuel by post-injection is burnt in the oxidation catalyst 12 and the high-temperature exhaust gas is introduced into the particulate filter 13, and an EGR valve 17 is controlled so as to reduce a recirculation amount of exhaust gas when the temperature of the exhaust gas is high, compared with a case where the temperature of the exhaust gas is low.
